Is Bamboo true green " eco friendly" flooring ? Consumers around the world are looking at reducing their footprint on the nvironment and bamboo flooring has been at the forefront of the eco revolution.
Bamboo products seem to be in everythign from towels to furniture, countertops and flooring. Is Bamboo flooring as green as everyone says ?Since Bamboo plants take anywhere from 3- 6 years to reach maturity, and continually regenerate they do offer a considerable advantage to typrical hardwoods whcih can take over 100 years. If grown in an environmentally friendly maner it requires minimum pesticides and fertilizers. But the Majority of woods in the USA are imported from China so its important to understand what chemicals are used in the harvesting and processing of the wood .
